In the past we have seen the Air Jordan 1 (I) “Military,” which was dedicated to Michael Jordan’s brother Ronnie Jordan and this time we have this Air Jordan 1 (I) “Father’s Day” which was produced by the Jordan Brand as a tribute to Michael Jordan’s late father James Raymond Jordan Sr. who was the most important part of Jordan’s life. While not every Air Jordan 1 High that had released has had such a personal connection to Michael Jordan Brand, but the OG “Royal” is one that has been equally iconic and momentous. After being released in 2013, it could now be among Jordan releases 2017.
The shoe features a Black and Royal Blue upper base where the main base of the shoe is leather overlays, which are predominantly covered in Black all over while the other parts of the shoe are covered in the Royal Blue hue. The lace tabs and part of the side panel is also made up of the same Black leather while the area around the toe as well as the quarter panel and ankle area are all made up of the Royal Blue leather.
The inner padding of the shoe is in black just like the laces and the solid outer sole which is preceded by a milky white mid sole. One unique feature of this shoe includes its OG Nike brand that can be spotted on the tongues and various logos can be seen on the shoe like the Air Jordan Winged logo with the basketball near the heel and the shoe also has two Jumpman. It is unlikely that any other release from Jordan Brand could be considered as coveted as this one. If the rumors turn out to be true, sneakerheads who do not have a pair in their collection could get their hands on the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Royal” next year. Apparently, Nike is planning to include it among 2017’s Jordan release dates.
