A Variation Of Ben Gordon’s Air Foamposite Pro PE From 2004 Is Arriving

Athletes who are signed with Nike tend to become eligible and entitled to receive special privileges. While receiving sponsorship money tends to be a part of the deal, Nike provides their star athletes with special and unique Player Exclusive sneakers from time to time. Ben Gordon happens to be one such privileged Nike athlete who received a Player Exclusive rendition of the Air Foamposite Pro twelve years ago. Considering that the Swoosh is planning to drop so many different Foamposite colorways this year, it is not surprising that the Nike release 2016 of Ben Gordon’s Air Foamposite Pro is taking place this year.

Soon after, Ben signed with Nike and aptly enough, he received a special Player Exclusive colorway of the Air Foamposite Pro for his accomplishment. At the time, sneakerheads likely knew very well that the sneaker would not be hitting the shelves any time soon, despite hoping and wishing of some way they could get their hands on a pair. Fortunately, Nike is now going to grant their wish since they plan to drop the Air Foamposite Pro “Hyper Cobalt.”

Photos of this year’s upcoming version of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro had already surfaced online by the time December came to an end last year. As those photos reveal, the sneaker is dressed up in a combination of Black and Hyper Cobalt much like the original, but it is also apparently equipped with a leather lace eyestay, which was not the case before. Finally, a Blue rubber outsole adds the finishing touch. One major exception is that the sneaker does not sport any Ben Gordon branding, which is probably acceptable.

However, Nike has not confirmed anything yet in terms of when exactly this sneaker will hit the shelves.
