Back in October 2015, adidas Originals presented the Futurecraft 3D, which they referred to as the future of performance footwear. It was introduced as an innovative running shoe with full-length 3D-printed midsoles that buyers could get customized to accurately and perfectly cushion their feet. Moreover, its uppers were made up of mesh and Primeknit. Also known as the 3D Runner, this innovative low-top running shoe made its retail debut in an all-Black and an all-White colorway on December 15th, 2016 at a price of $333. Ever since, adidas Originals have released a Futurecraft 4D colorway and apparently more collaborative releases are on their way.
Back in June 2017, when the Futurecraft 3D had not even made its retail debut, adidas that they were already working on a Futurecraft 4D performance shoe. The Futurecraft 4D was designed and produced in collaboration with Carbon, a technology company and manufacturer in Silicone Valley. The Futurecraft 4D marked the debut of Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis technology onto a shoe, using a combination of digital light, liquid resins and oxygen. Upon completion of the highly innovative Futurecraft 4D, 300 pairs were distributed among friends and family. Eventually, the Futurecraft 4D made its exclusive and limited debut at a special event in New York City back in April 2017.
Earlier this year, the adidas Futurecraft 4D arrived exclusively at Packer Shoes, KITH and Sneakersnstuff in New York City on January 18th, 2018 and retailed at a price of $300. The image above is actually made up of screenshots from a video by adidas. It reveals that adidas will be exclusively teaming up with these four sneaker boutiques, namely Foot Patrol, Invincible, KITH and Sneakersnstuff, to whip up four different Futurecraft 4D shoes. Apart from a very minor glimpse of one of them in the video, there is no way of knowing what these Futurecraft 4D designs will end up looking like. So, keep checking back to SneakerExclusive.
