The adidas NMD XR1 Gets Blacked-Out In “Core Black” For The Fall Season

For quite a while, adidas has been surpassing all expectations, whether it comes to its basketball sneakers, or its lifestyle or running shoes. Denis Dekovic, one of the latest adidas Originals designers, is one of the three prominent designers who formerly worked for Nike. Therefore, it kind of makes sense that adidas is triumphantly standing toe-to-toe with Nike under the spotlight. During the last few days of July, Denis had even given sneakerheads a glimpse at the latest adidas innovation, the NMD XR1. Now, adidas has introduced a brand new all-Black colorway of the NMD XR1 variation that has been dubbed the “Core Black.”

adidas NMD XR1 “Core Black”-2By August, adidas Originals had officially expanded the NMD family by add a new installment to the line in the form of a variation, namely the XR1. While this XR1 variation utilizes the same blueprint as the regular adidas NMD model, there are several features that have been enhanced. For instance, its uppers are made up of a micro-rib knit woven mesh material contained within a lacing cage. The uppers rest upon comfortable Boost cushioning, while this silhouette also happens equipped with nubuck leather heel patches. The introduction of this variation opens up the door to a whole lot of new aesthetic possibilities for the NMD.

Ultimately though, the NMD XR1 is still an adidas model with a lifestyle theme. Even this latest “Core Black” colorway of the silhouette appears to be quite street-savvy. The on-foot photos featured here were recently posted by This iteration looks quite sleek with its micro-rib knitted woven mesh uppers dressed up almost entirely in Black, while Footwear White-colored accents made an appearance here and there. This rendition looks rather monochromatic since even its midsoles and the EVA inserts that they sport are all also covered in the same ominous Black hue.

However, this adidas NMD XR1 “Core Black” does not arrive until later this month since it is scheduled to retail on September 17th for $140.
