For sneakerheads who do not know, Overkill is a Berlin-based sneaker store. Back in June 2016, Overkill was the first to unveil the extremely limited and special adidas NMD “Firestarter.” adidas had produced merely 300 pairs of the sneaker, which arrived at retailers all over the globe, including Overkill. The breathable primeknit uppers of the sneaker was dressed up in combination of Black and White, while a fiery Bright Orange hue appeared over its heel pull tabs and outsoles. It is probably obvious that adidas and Overkill have close ties, and this year, those ties will translate into this new, upcoming Overkill x adidas EQT “Coat of Arms” Pack.
This is actually not the first time that adidas and Overkill are teaming up, rather they previous collaborated for the release of the Overkill x adidas Originals EQT 93 “Taxi.” That sneaker retailed at a price of $130 at select adidas locations on November 6th, 2017. Since Overkill is based in Germany, inspiration for this sneaker iteration was drawn from the taxis in Germany. Hence, its nylon and suede uppers were dressed up predominantly in Beige hue, while also sporting reflective Blue- and Silver-colored nylon overlays. It was also equipped with speckled Grey-colored rubber soles and its tongues featured Yellow-colored tabs.
Since Overkill is involved in this latest EQT “Coat of Arms” Pack, it draws inspiration from and is a tribute to Kreuzberg, which is one of Berlin’s best-known areas and the Overkill store is located there. This adidas x Overkill “Coat of Arms” Pack includes brand new colorways of the EQT Support ADV and the EQT Support Future. The “Coat of Arms” nickname is likely a reference to the traditional emblem of Kreuzberg, which features the hues Black, Red and White. Those three hues also appear over the uppers of both sneakers. The EQT Support ADV features Overkill’s logo on the ankle straps, while the EQT Support Future features the logo each shoe’s medial side.
The great thing is that both adidas and Overkill decided to reveal the release details along with these official photos of the two sneakers. Therefore, this Overkill x adidas EQT “Coat of Arms” Pack will make its retail debut on May 27th, 2017, with the EQT Support ADV retailing at a price of $150 and the EQT Support Future retailing at a price of $180.
