It is nothing new for adidas to dig through their archives for their mid ‘90s running shoes and re-release them in a revamped form. Back in July 2014, adidas introduced the Torsion Response Lite, an updated rendition of the original Torsion Response. Looking as sleek as the original, the Torsion Response Lite had uppers made up of leather, with mesh toeboxes and neoprene around the collars. The coloway was predominantly White, with Red- and Teal-colored accents. It was also equipped with AdiPRENE technology. Featured here is the adidas YUNG-1, a brand new running shoe that is inspired by another ‘90s retro runner that adidas recently upgraded.
The adidas YUNG-1 is actually inspired by the Falcon Dorf running shoe that the brand introduced back in 1997. Coincidentally, this year’s updated version of the Falcon Dorf turned out being equipped with the same midsoles that are a part of the YUNG-1. Since the aesthetic of this year’s Falcon Dorf was upgraded, it looked more chiseled and chunkier than the original, which seems to be quite trendy when it comes to modern day running shoes. Not to mention, it happened to be a women’s exclusive. Adidas released the updated Falcon Dorf on June 2nd, 2018 and it retailed at a price €99.95.
In case you recall original Falcon Dorf and cannot see the resemblance, keep in mind that the YUNG-1 is only loosely inspired by that mid ‘90s running shoe. The YUNG-1 is also a women’s exclusive trainer. It features multi-layered uppers; including suede overlays with have quite the interesting and unique shapes. As you can see, adidas has designed two different colorways, one of which is dressed up in a combination of “Collegiate Navy/Red/White” and the other in “Hi-Res Orange/Hi-Res Orange-Shock Yellow.” Like the Falcon Dorf, its midsoles happen to be equipped with the Torsion system. The adidas YUNG-1 will make its retail debut on June 21st, 2018 for $120.
