adidas Boost has smoothly transformed into one of the most comfortable sneaker cushioning technologies in merely four years. Boost technology was unveiled back in February 2012, as a part of the Energy Boost running shoe. Three years later, adidas further upgraded the Boost technology by introducing the full-length Ultra Boost, which was paired with Primeknit construction. According to adidas, the Ultra Boost is one of the brand’s best shoes. Back in December 2016 though, they further revamped it with the Ultra Boost ATR Mid, which will make its retail debut in October 2017. Turns out, this variation of the Ultra Boost will also arrive in a women’s-exclusive colorway.
The adidas Ultra Boost was certainly designed to be an ideal running shoe, but it was not meant for off-road running, at least not until the mid-top ATR variation was introduced. The “Aspen” Collection by Ronnie Fieg offered a preview of what the Ultra Boost would look like with a mid cut, but the upcoming ATR variation will be more readily available. The adidas Ultra Boost combines the latest 30.0 Primeknit construction with traditional heel cages, Ultra Boost midsoles and much more. Until recently, the iterations that had been unveiled were going to be available in men’s sizes, but that will not be the case with this particular one.
Since it is a mid-top variation, the ankle collars of the adidas UltraBoost ATR Mid are higher. ATR happens to be an acronym for All-Terrain since this variation really has been designed for off-road running, which is the reason that its rubber outsoles are bulkier as well. The colorway seen above has been dubbed “Mystery Ruby” since its 3.0 Primeknit uppers are dressed up in a reddish ruby-like hue with Black-colored ribbing. It is also equipped with plain White-colored Ultra Boost midsoles and sleek Black-colored rubber outsoles.
The debut “Grey” colorway of the adidas Ultra Boost ATR Mid is expected and scheduled to arrive at retailers in October 2017. This Ultra Boost ATR Mid “Mystery Ruby” might also hit the shelves around the same time.
