The nickname of Nike Kobe 11 seems to suggest that it is for some reason inspired by televisions. This certainly explains why the rear end of this Kobe 11 Elite GS “TV” features colorful bars. Moreover, the entire appearance and color scheme of the sneaker appears to resemble SMPTE color bars, which is a television test pattern. As of now, it is uncertain what connection the inspiration behind this colorway has with Kobe Bryant. While sneakerheads try to figure that out, they may also want to take a look at this upcoming Nike Kobe 11 4KB “Red Horse.”
Back on March 14th this year, Nike introduced a Kobe 11 Elite rendition that being referred to as an Easter version and it had “4KB” attached to its name. It still remains unknown what the 4KB actually stands for since Nike have not unveiled the backstory or theme behind it yet. The sneaker itself has Flyknit uppers that are dressed up in clean White, while the side panels featured multicolor detailing. Apparently that is why it was also being referred to as the “White Multicolor” iteration. It turns out that this Kobe 11 Elite 4KB “Red Horse” is a follow-up to that colorway.
The Flyknit uppers of this Kobe 11 Elite 4KB colorway appear to be dressed up in a combination of Team Red and University Red, which definitely explains this sneaker’s nickname. As for the heel tabs, inner linings, laces, Nike Swooshes, outsoles and the tongues, they are all covered in Summit White, which gives this sneaker a Red and White color combination.
The Nike Kobe 11 Elite GS “TV,” which is also being referred to as the “Wolf Grey” colorway, has already hit the shelves on May 27th and should currently be available for $135. However, since the Kobe 11 Elite 4KB is regarded as an “elite” version, so the retail price of the “Red Horse” colorway will be relatively higher when it arrives at retailers on June 1st, i.e. $220.
