After The KD 7 The LeBron 12 Also Receives The “What The” Treatment

Like every year, Nike Basketball has already whipped up yet another batch of their mashup “What the” sneaker iterations for 2015. By the time May neared its end, it was unveiled that the KD 7 would be the first model to receive the “What the” treatment this year. Apparently next in line is the Nike LeBron 12 with its own “What the” rendition, which will be making its way to retailers on one of the upcoming Nike release dates 2015.

what-the-lebron-12-2While LeBron James has been busy focusing on scoring a Larry O’Brien Championship victory for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Nike too has been busy designing the 2015 Nike LeBron “What the” colorway. In fact, Nike has taken a rather subtle approach towards this LeBron 12 iteration, especially in comparison to this year’s KD 7, which is dressed up in a myriad of hues and patterns. Then again the KD 7 is probably equally subtle and tasteful in comparison to previous “What the” KD versions. It seems that elements borrowed from previous colorways of Kevin Durant’s signature sneakers, such as the “Aunt Pearl, “Nerf” and “Weatherman,” have been mashed up together to create this KD 7 “What the.”

Photos from various angles of the LeBron 12 “What the” were leaked on several Instagram accounts during the first week of June. The sneaker features a Metallic Silver-colored upper that is apparently made up of gunmetal Hyperposite, while its Megafuse layers are covered in varying hues, adding a multicolor touch to the sneaker. Apart from the fact that the tongue sports Dunkman and Swingman branding, University Yellow-colored Nike Swoosh logos can also be spotted. 3M details, an icy translucent outsole and speckling on the midsole are also amongst this sneaker’s features.

Apparently, Nike Basketball wishes to give at least a one-month gap before dropping this LeBron 12 “What the,” since they have announced September 5th as one of the upcoming September 2015 Nike release dates for its retail debut.
