The Air Jordan 1 High Is Receiving The Premium Hender Scheme-Like “Wheat” Treatment

Whether they are referred to as Pinnacle or Premium releases, the Air Jordan 4 sneakers worth $400 have always been flying off the shelves despite that hefty price tag. It was back in 2016 when Jordan Brand launched the Air Jordan 4 Retro Premium collection and it has taken the sneaker community by storm ever since. On October 29th last year, Jordan Brand dropped yet another Premium release in the form of the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Ginger” or “Wheat.” Apparently continuing that theme and hopefully without that high of a price, it seems that the Air Jordan 1 High is also receiving the “Wheat” treatment this year.

Air Jordan 1 High “Wheat”-2The inspiration for this “Ginger” or “Wheat” theme came from Hender Scheme’s use of Vachetta Tan leather for their recreations of popular sneaker models, including iconic Air Jordan silhouettes. On February 17th this year, an Air Jordan 12 “Wheat” was also previewed at Public School NY’s at pop-up shop 330 Hudson, which was collaboratively designed by PSNY. Dressed up entirely in that Ginger/Wheat hue, the premium uppers of this PSNY x Air Jordan 12 were made up of smooth nubuck, while it was equipped with Gum Rubber soles. This PSNY x Air Jordan 12 “Wheat” is expected to join Summer’s upcoming Jordan releases 2017.

Along the abovementioned PSNY x Air Jordan 12, it turns out that Jordan Brand will be dropping another Wheat-themed sneaker this year. Along with those Hender Scheme recreations, this Air Jordan 1 High “Wheat” probably also draws inspiration from Timberland boots, which also inspired a similar Nike Air Force 1 colorway from three years ago. This Air Jordan 1 High iteration has uppers made up of smooth nubuck dressed up in this recognizable Tan hue. A combination of clean White midsoles and Gum Rubber outsoles add the finish touch, while its tongues also feature the OG “Nike Air” branding.”

Air Jordan 1 High “Wheat”-3The retail price of this premium sneaker has yet to be announced, which probably makes a lot of sneakerheads wonder if it is going to cost them $400 to cop a pair. As for when this Air Jordan 1 High “Wheat” will hit the the shelves, it will reportedly make its retail debut among Fall’s Air Jordan releases 2017.
