Have you watched the Gatorade “23 vs. 39” commercial? Fans of Michael Jordan likely may have come across it. For those who have not, it featured a 39-year-old Michael Jordan go head-to-head against his 23-year-old former self in a game of basketball for the ages. The younger Michael Jordan in the commercial appears to be laced up in the classic Air Jordan 1. Apparently that is why, and also considering that the Air Jordan 6 “Gatorade” is scheduled to arrive this year, Michael Jordan decided that there should be a “Gatorade” Pack revolving around multiple Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG colorways.
Of course, the Gatorade “23 vs. 39” commercial did not actually star two Michael Jordans. Michael Jordan was actually 39 years old when the commercial was aired, but the younger version of MJ was added by using computer programming. The good thing was that they did not use a double, i.e. someone merely resembling him. The reason that the younger Michael Jordan looked so realistic was because created a 3-D sculpted model of Michael Jordan’s body from thousands of photographs of him. While the game never really concludes, but both the young and old Michael Jordan had their moments, and both end up drinking Gatorade.
Consequently, sneakerheads can now look forward to more than one Gatorade-themed sneaker from Jordan Brand to join upcoming Jordan releases 2017. The photo accompanying this post merely offers a preview of what some of the colorways will look like and from the looks of it; they will apparently all be monochromatic and tonal. Two of the three colorways seen in the above photo are apparently dubbed “Blue Lagoon” and “Orange Peel.” All the iterations will be made up of premium leather, while they will feature “Be Like Mike” and Gatorade’s “lightning” branding, along with being equipped with Gatorade-themed hang tags.
Other colorways of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG that will be included in the “Gatorade” Pack are dubbed “Cyber” and “Rush Violet.” Information regarding the arrival of this “Gatorade” Pack has not yet surfaced, but it will hopefully end up being among next month’s Jordan releases 2017, so keep checking back.
