Tinker Hatfield’s name has become synonymous with Jordan Brand and Nike. He is the favorite sneaker designer of most sneakerheads, probably include most of those who are reading this. By now, the number of Jordan releases from the Tinker Hatfield era, i.e. from the Air Jordan 3 to the Air Jordan 25, that have yet to receive the retro treatment is gradually being narrowed down. Just a small number of sneakers like the original Air Jordan 10 “City Pack” releases and some Air Jordan 14 Low colorways, have yet to be re-released in retro form. Even the Air Jordan 13 Low “Brave Blue” gets released next month.
Apart from all the numbered models from the Air Jordan 3 to 25, Tinker Hatfield has also designed numerous other sneaker silhouettes as well. These include the Nike Air Flight Huarache, which is perhaps be one of Tinker’s most celebrated non-Air Jordan designs that was made famous by the Michigan Wolverines’s “Fab Five.” Along designing running shoes for the Air Max and Huarache, Tinker is also responsible for designing the Nike Zoom Talaria runner, which was equipped with the revolutionary Nike Zoom. In fact, it was Tinker who introduced the Huarache technology after designing the Nike Huarache Trainer, which introduced the concept of neoprene booties.
There is definitely no denying that Tinker Hatfield is quite creative and ingenious. The “Brave Blue” is one of original colorways of this low-top Air Jordan 13 variation and Jordan Brand had first dropped it back in 1998, so it is returning after nineteen years. Predominantly, the sneaker’s uppers have a sleek Black-colored base, while it gets its nickname from the Carolina Blue shade that covers its branding, inner lining and overlays. While it is uncertain, the sneaker is apparently made up of a combination of mesh, nubuck and suede.
This will not be the only colorway of this model that joins upcoming Air Jordan releases 2017, rather its re-release will be followed by that of the “Chutney” iteration. It has finally been confirmed that the Air Jordan 13 Low “Brave Blue” will hit the shelves once again on April 8th, 2017 at select Jordan retailers.
