You may or may not recall but Jordan Brand teased the Air Jordan 14 “Black Toe” alongside the Air Jordan 14 “Thunder” back in January 2014. Later that month in June, sneakerheads got a proper, more detailed first look at the sneaker in June that year. By September, even Jordan Brand had unveiled official photos and it wound up becoming one of the most highly anticipated releases of that month, eventually making its retail debut on September 20th. The colorway is not returning to join this year’s Air Jordan release 2018. However, Jordan Brand seems to have whipped up a variation with the addition of a new hue.
Originally, Jordan Brand releassed the Air Jordan 14 “Black Toe” back in 1998, after Michael Jordan had laced up in sneaker during the NBA Finals that year. The Air Jordan 14 “Black Toe” was one release that sneakerheads would have been more than glad and willing to camp out for, in order to get their hands on a pair or more. Most of its plain White uppers were made up of leather, except for the Black-colored suede overlays present over the toe area. Other Black-colored detailing could be spotted throughout. Moreover, it was also equipped with an easy lace system.
Overall, the Air Jordan 14 “Black Toe” has always been regarded as a simple and straightforward colorway, which is the reason behind its appeal. While it does not have an official nickname, this upcoming variation maintains that simplicity, but it happens to be a GS-exclusive. In fact, the color blocking and most of the color scheme is the same as that of the “Black Toe,” with the only exception that all of the Red- and Yellow-colored detailing has been replaced with Fuchsia Flash. Additionally, its uppers appear to be made up of perforated leather rather than being smooth the Black-colored toe overlays are made up of nubuck.
While many of you may have been hoping for the Air Jordan 14 “Black Toe” to join this year’s Air Jordan releases 2018, this rendition is worth copping too, especially if you happen to be a small-footed sneakerhead. This Air Jordan 14 GG variation of the OG “Black Foot” colorway is reportedly set to make its retail debut at a price of $140 on May 14th, 2018.
