This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 3, which originally made its retail debut back in 1988. Hence, it should not surprise you that this year’s Air Jordan releases 2018 will include numerous new and old colorways of the model. The Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement” and “White Cement” have already made their comeback. Jordan Brand also introduced the Air Jordan 3 “Tinker” and its “JTH” variation for Justin Timberlake. The Air Jordan 3 “Bio Beige,” “Chlorophyll” and “Hall Of Fame” will also arrive later this year. Jordan Brand even whipped up an Air Jordan 3 PE for the Michael Jordan’s alma mater.
Out of all the Air Jordan models that Jordan Brand has introduced so far, the Air Jordan 3 is one of the most popular. Compared to its predecessors, Tinker Hatfield had taken the design and fit of the Air Jordan 3 to a whole new level. The Jordan “Wings” branding and the Nike “Swoosh” logo were also removed, while the “Jumpman” logo made its debut on the Air Jordan 3. It was also Jordan Brand’s first Air Jordan model to feature a completely visible Air unit. Additionally, the elephant print that has become a signature element of the Air Jordan 3 was inspired by the Nike Air Safari.
Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan’s son, was the one who shared these photos of the Air Jordan 3 “UNC” PE. As can be expected of any Player Exclusive iteration designed specifically for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, this one is dressed up in the team’s colors. In fact, it is predominantly clean White with Carolina Blue-colored detailing visible throughout. Of course, the Cement Grey-colored elephant print overlays can be spotted over the heels and toes, while the UNC logo is present on the tongues and the “Jumpman” logo is present on the heels. Since this is a PE, it will not be among upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018.
