Back in 2016, the Air Jordan 8 was a part of two different packs. Even before it was officially announced, sneakerheads already knew that last year’s annual Championship Pack would consist of the Air Jordan 8, much like how this year’s pack will include the Air Jordan 9. The pack contained the “Champagne” and “Confetti” colorways of the Air Jordan 8. The Air Jordan 8 was also included in 2016’s Kobe Pack, which included an iteration that was dressed up in the colors of the Los Angeles Lakers. While the Air Jordan 8 already joined the recent Jordan releases 2017, now its “Alternate” colorway is arriving too.
By now, a lot of sneakerheads probably own a pair of the Air Jordan 8 “Take Flight.” The sneaker recently made its retail debut on January 28th, on the same day that Jordan Brand dropped a number of other sneakers, including the entire Chinese New Year Collection. Also known as the “Sequoia” colorway, it got its secondary nickname from the Sequoia Green hue that covers the sneaker almost entirely. Of course, it was not a completely tonal iteration, so it also featured Black-colored accents and Max Orange appeared over its branding and outsoles. Less than a month later, another Air Jordan 8 is on its way.
The 2017 66th All-Star Game came to its conclusion, where the Eastern Conference defeated the Western Conference with a score of 192-182. Yet, next week is scheduled to mark the retail debut of two sneakers that revolve around the All-Star theme. The first is the Air Jordan 12 Low “Playoff” and the second is the Air Jordan 8 “Alternate” featured here. It is visibly inspired by the Chicago Bulls, with a predominantly clean White-colored base with Black- and Red-colored accents here and there, including some abstract patterns. The concept behind this sneaker is that it is literally an alternate colorway that Michael Jordan could have rocked back in the days.
The sneaker featured here also happens to be the second “Alternate” Jordan releases 2017, the other one being that of the Air Jordan 6, which is scheduled to arrive on March 11th, 2017. As for this Air Jordan 8 “Alternate,” sneakerheads will be able to cop a pair for $190 on February 25th.
