Back near the end of June, photos had surfaced of a never-before-seen Under Armour model, which was assumed to be the latest installment in Stephen Curry’s signature sneaker line. Based on reports from reliable sources, those photos had actually turned out to be fakes. However, in the beginning of July, genuine photos of the actual silhouette had been leaked, confirming that the Curry 3 was indeed on its way. The Curry 3 is certainly an upgrade to its predecessors, but in terms of style, it still takes cues from the previous two models. The Under Armour Curry 3 already made its retail debut and now, another colorway is arriving.
As far as its design is concerned, the heel cups of the Curry resemble those of the Curry One and its debut iteration had been equipped with splattered midsoles. Its first rendition was relatively simple, dressed up predominantly in Orange, and rather than using plastic mimicking carbon, the heels apparently feature actual carbon fiber detailing. In fact, even its midfoot shanks are made up of actual carbon fiber. The lateral sides of the eyestays have fuse to reinforce the lace loops, while there are no loops at the medial sides. Last but not least, there is multidirectional herringbone patterns beneath the outsoles for enhanced traction.
Sneakerheads who happen to be fans of Stephen Curry will be aware that North Carolina happens to be his home state. The local NFL team of the state of North Carolina is the Carolina Panthers, who also happen to be Stephen’s favorite professional football team in the National Football League. Thus, it makes quite the sense that Under Armour has dressed up the latest Curry 3 iteration in the team colors of the Panthers. So, this sneaker sports a Black and Teal color scheme and Under Armour branding can be spotted over the heels of the outsoles.
Upon the Curry 3’s debut, its first colorway had apparently retailed for $150. However, Under Armour has not yet disclosed any release information about the Curry 3 “Panthers.”
