Even though the weather in Brazil’s seaside city has taken an unexpected turn, hopefully the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics will heat things up, despite the state of crisis in the state of crisis there. No doubt, things do not seem to be in favor of the 2016 Olympics, with Brazilians still not in the Olympic spirit yet, the Zika virus causing widespread panic and the headlines are full of doping scandals. However, there are still plenty of reasons to be excited about the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. Sneakerheads can even join the celebrations by copping the recently released Nike Air Foamposite One “Olympic.”
During this year’s Olympics, Usain Bolt will be defending his 100m, sprint relay and 200m titles and the chances are that he will end up retaining them. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, who is also a Jamaican athlete much like Bolt, is a prospective candidate to win gold for the third time in the 100m. Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic are likely going to be the highlights of the men’s tennis final since Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are both currently unfit. Katie Ledecky, who won the 800m freestyle in the London 2012 Summer Olympics at the age of 15, is expected to dominate the pool this year.
In the world of footwear, Nike too has been dominating the scene with its ever-growing Olympics-inspired collection. This very month, they dropped numerous Olympics-themed sneakers, one of which was the Air Foamposite One “Olympic.” Much like all the other sneakers from the collection, this Air Foamposite One is also dressed up in the colors of Team USA, i.e. Blue, Red and White. A Metallic Gold hue covers the branding featured on the sneaker, which makes the Olympics theme more apparent.
With the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics scheduled to officially kick off next month, it is not surprising that most of the sneakers from Nike’s Olympics-inspired collection have already made their retail debut. Even this Nike Air Foamposite One “Olympic” recently hit the shelves on July 26th and should still be available at a whopping price of $250.
