Back in the 1970s, Nike had originally designed the Blazer as a basketball shoe. In the middle of 2000, the model was revamped and upgraded to be fit for skateboarders, which is how the Nike SB Blazer came to be. While the sneaker’s design was the same as the original, it was equipped with vulcanized soles for improved skateboard traction. Arguably, one of the most hyped and popular iteration of the SB Blazer Hi was the one that had resulted from the collaboration between Supreme and Nike. Mache Customs has apparently draw inspiration from the Supreme x Nike SB Blazer Hi to craft a new custom Air Jordan 2.
The Supreme x Nike SB Blazer Hi had made its retail debut back in 2006. When compared to numerous collaborations of the past, the SB Blazer Hi had the Midas touch. The skateboarding store in New York City has been associated with many sneaker releases and those kicks proved to be quite profitable for resellers. From originally being a basketball shoe, the Blazer had been modified into a skateboarding model, and the Supreme collaboration transformed the SB Blazer Hi into a lifestyle variation with quilted uppers. The collaboration revolved around three renditions, one of which had sported a Red and Grey color scheme.
Mache Customs latest creation can be regarded as a combination of the Supreme x Nike SB Blazer Hi and the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 iterations. The Just Don x Air Jordan 2 had first been unveiled two years ago, back in December 2014. Much like the two collaborative sneaker that this new Air Jordan 2 is an amalgamation of, it too features quilted uppers that are predominantly dressed up in Red, while the side panels appear to have Grey-colored python overlays incorporated into them. It also seems to b equipped with D-ring pull-tabs, which have directly been borrowed from the Nike Blazer.
This custom Air Jordan 2 variation somewhat brings the best of two different collaborations and the sneaker they resulted in. However, as is the case with a majority of customs, this one from Mache Customs will likely not be up for grabs.
