Nike took the first step towards going digital by launching the SNKRS app back in 2015. The launch of the SNKRS app marked a major shift in how Nike would be selling its apparel and footwear, including those from Jordan Brand. Thanks to Nike’s SNKRS app, sneakerheads no longer had to compete with annoying bots and resellers in order to be able to cop their favorite Jordan Brand and Nike releases. Through the app, sneakerheads also gained access to exclusive content. Nike is even rewarding the users of its SNKRS app in Detroit with the launch of a Jordan Reserve program, which will likely expand throughout the U.S.
Nike’s SNKRS App Changed How Sneakersheads Cop Kicks
Sneakerheads who use the Nike SNKRS app are able to store their billing, shipping, and sizing information in it so that they never end up missing out on the chance of copping a brand new release. Ever since its launch, Nike has consistently continued updating and upgrading the app with a variety of different features. Last year, Nike even launched the SNEAKRS app for sneakerheads in Europe, and in celebration of its 1-year anniversary this year, Nike recently arranged a massive restock. Nike’s launch of the SNKRS app, and the SNEAKRS app, is proof of the company’s lasting interest in seeking to “understand the psychology” of avid sneakerheads.
The Jordan Reserve Program Offers Exclusive “Air Access”
Part of Nike’s SNKRS App, the “Reserve” Initiative is Jordan Brand’s consumer-reward program, at the moment exclusively for its loyal customers in Detroit, Michigan. Detroit is apparently the first of select cities where users of the SNKRS app will gain “Air Access” to exclusive and limited products via this Jordan Reserve program. For the launch of the Reserve program, Jordan Brand is granting Detroit-based sneakerheads access to a special restock event. Sneakers that have been restocked include the Air Jordan 1 “Game Royal” and “Homage To Home, the Air Jordan 1 Satin “Shattered Backboard,” the Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement,” and the Air Jordan 11 “Cap & Gown.”
Of course, this is not the only Jordan Reserve event that users of the Nike SNKRS app are going to gain “Air Access” to, depending on the city they are from. This means that amidst the Air Jordan release 2018 for Fall and Winter, more restocks are going to take place in other major cities in the U.S.
