March 7th, 2018 was the birthday of Mark Robinson, who happens to be Drake’s assistant. So, that night, Drake was celebrating with Mark and he was spotted laced up in a pair of the Yeezy Season 4 boot. On its own, this may not seem like an unusual occurrence, but many of you may recall that there have been rumors about Drake being discontent with his collaborative relationship with Jordan Brand. This might suggest that Drake is switching over to adidas, or it might just be nothing. Moreover, it does not change the fact that Drake is a huge fan of Air Jordan sneakers and has a sizeable collection.
The posts that Drake makes on Instagram are known for being pretty well-timed. Near the end of last month, Drake shared a photo of himself on Instagram in which he can be seen wearing adidas track pants. This seems to add more substance to the reports and rumors about Drake cutting his ties with Jordan Brand due to a lack of creative freedom, especially not being able to have his own signature sneaker line. Considering that his fellow rappers Pharrell Williams and Kanye West already have their own line of products, Drake will likely get what he is seeking if he signs a new deal with adidas.
Will this change Drake’s love for Jordan Brand’s sneakers? One thing is for sure, it will not change the fact that he has quite a diverse and large collection of Air Jordan PE pairs. Nessel “Chubbs” Beezer, who is Drake’s security chief, recently shared a video that provided a closer look at all the Air Jordan PE sneakers that are a part of Drake’s collection. These included the UNDEFEATED x Air Jordan 4, the Air Jordan 8 PE “Charles Oakley,” the Air Jordan 11 “Snakeskin,” and plenty others.
