This particular news is technically not about any upcoming Nike release dates 2015 and it might actually disappoint many sneakerheads from New York City who do not know about it already. Nonetheless, something that has happened cannot be undone. What happened is that Kevin Durant was apparently in quite a giving mood just recently on August 14th since he teamed up Foot Locker to arrange an exciting scavenger hunt revolving around the latest Nike KD 8.
On August 14th, 2015, Footlocker made the announcement about the scavenger on their Instagram page. The goal of this scavenger hunt was to find eight pairs of the Nike KD8 “Suit,” each in a special box, which Kevin Durant himself had left behind at various locations all across New York City with Nike Basketball Brand Ambassadors. Sneakerheads interested in copping any of those KD 8 “Suit” pairs for free were given the task of finding each of those specific NYC locations based on hints Footlocker left on their Instagram page. The Instagram posts also mentioned the password “#AllForTheGame” for the contest that the sneakerheads would have to provide to the ambassador in order to become a lucky winner.
The fact of the matter is that the contest had already begun on August 14th and four out of the eight KD 8 “Suit” pairs were already given away. On August 15th, the first location where Kevin Durant had left a box was the Brooklyn Museum. The next location he visited and left behind a box was his favorite lunch spot in New York City, the Habana Outpost. The second last pair was left behind with an ambassador at Dough Doughnuts in the Brooklyn Flea market and he left behind the final pair of the scavenger hunt at Footlocker’s House of Hoops store on Fulton Street in Brookyln.
It is true that the Nike KD 8 “Suit” has already hit the shelves on one of the recent Nike release dates, specifically the very day this scavenger hunt was announced. However, it must be kept in mind that these eight sneaker, which each costs $180, was given away for free, and this fact might disappoint NYC-based sneakerheads who had no clue about the giveaway and the hunt.
