Some of the earlier Air Jordan releases 2019 also included Russell Westbrook‘s debuting second signature model, the Jordan Why Not Zer0.2. The Why Not Zer0.2 was first seen back in December 2018 when some leaked photos were shared by @nikeswoosh.ph on Instagram. As 2019 begun, one of the first things that Jordan Brand did was officially unveil the Why Not Zer0.2 on January 1st. Not only that, Russell Westbrook’s second signature sneaker model made its retail debut in full family sizes on January 10th, 2019. Its debuting colorway consisted of multiple hues, such as Black, Orange, shades of Blue, Red, and Sail, which covered its soles.
Jordan Brand-Sponsored Collegiate Teams Received Their Own Why Not Zer0.2 Colorways
Georgetown University and the Universities of Florida, Michigan and North Carolina currently have the leading Jordan Brand-sponsored collegiate basketball and football teams in the U.S. Their respective teams, namely the Hoyas, Gators, Wolverines and Tar Heels, have consequently been receiving special, Air Jordan PE colorways every now and then, especially when a brand new model is introduced. The same happened when the Jordan Why Not Zer0.2 was unveiled. Above you can see Why Not Zer0.2 PE colorways that the Gators and Tar Heels received. The third photo is of a potentially Oklahoma City Thunder-inspired Why Not Zer0.2 colorway that may or may not join future Air Jordan releases 2019.
The Why Not Zer0.2 Is Also A Part Of Jordan Brand’s “Black History Month” Collection
In addition to Converse and Nike, Jordan Brand will also be releasing a “Black History Month” Collection, which will include an “Equality” colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Mid and an Air Jordan 2 colorway. Also included in the collection is the Why Not Zer0.2 colorway you see above. This Why Not Zer0.2 colorway looks more similar to the Air Jordan 2 iteration from this collection, in terms of the traditional African multiple hues and patterns it features. While the Why Not Zer0.2 is obviously Russell Westbrook’s signature sneaker, the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Equality” from this collection actually features Carmelo Anthony’s branding.
Jordan Why Not Zer0.2 "Black History Month" Release Date: February 2nd, 2019 Retail Price: $125
