Union Los Angeles has been keeping men “fly since 1989” with up and coming designerwear, which is both fashionable and functional. Although the store was initially opened in New York City, it is currently located on 110 South La Brea Ave in Los Angeles, California. Compared to other chain stores, Union has always offered its male customers clothing and fashion that differs. One of their collaborative designs will now be joining upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018. While Jordan Brand and Union Los Angeles do not have a history of collaborations, they seem to have teamed for them very first time for a special Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG.
Coincidentally, Union Los Angeles has also been working together with adidas on a “Spezial” Collection that draws inspiration from the B-boys of New York and Terrace culture of UK from the ’70s. This collection revolves around the adidas Garwen SPZ and includes two different colorways of the shoe. One of them has uppers made up of premium British suede, while the other is dressed up in a combination of Royal Blue and White, inspired by an adidas 350 colorway from 1994. Accompanying these pairs will be matching apparel featuring adidas branding. The text “Union Spezial Crew” can also be spotted on the back of the included jacket and t-shirt.
As for the collaboration between Jordan Brand and Union, it seems to involve not one but two seemingly hybrid iterations of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG. In fact, each seems to blend together two original colorways of the model. Namely, one appears to be a combination the “Black Toe” and “White/Grey” colorways, while the other seems to be a hybrid of the “Bred” and “Storm Blue” colorways. Based on these leaked photos, they appear to sport an intentional worn out look with the foam of each tongue exposed, visible contrast stitching, and yellowed soles. They are also equipped with two-toned laces and tabs with “UN/LA” branding.
