It has been fifteen years since Carmelo Anthony has been playing in the National Basketball Association and is undoubtedly one of the league’s current best players. In fact, he and the Oklahoma City Thunder could potentially end up competing for the NBA Championship this year. Apart from the fact that he has scored a total of 25,417 points over the course of his career, his Jordan Melo signature sneaker line has been quite longstanding. In the first round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs in a game against the Utah Jazz, Carmelo Anthony laced up in the Melo 1.5 on the court after a rather long time.
The Jordan Melo 1.5 colorway that he sported is being referred to as “Hoodie Melo” and apparently the model itself has been modified. Jordan Brand seems to have transformed the Melo 1.5 to be far more luxurious than it has ever been. Apparently, its uppers are made up of a material similar to tech-fleece, while a reverse loop textile resembling the interior of a hoodie has been used for the headband and heels. The iteration that Carmelo laced up in was all-Black, OKC-inspired Thunder Blue- and Sunset-colored detailing visible over its medial side, while its later collar tag featured “XLT,” which is Carmelo’s hoodie size.
Apart from the “Hoodie Melo,” a much more vibrant Oklahoma City Thunder-inspired colorway of this brand new Jordan Melo 1.5 has also been unveiled. This iteration is almost entirely covered in the bright Sunset hue, with uppers made up of faux crocodile skin, mesh and suede. Adding a contrasting touch, Yellow can be spotted over the heels, inner lining and lace eyelets. Potential release details about these Jordan Melo 1.5 “Hoodie Melo” and “OKC PE” are scarce at the moment. However, it is being rumored that they might join next month’s Air Jordan releases 2018 in both men’s and GS sizes, but in limited quantities.
