The Jordan Why Not Zer0.1, Russell Westbrook’s first official signature performance sneaker, was unveiled by Jordan Brand at the beginning of this year. For Russell Westbrook, family has always come first. This became even more obvious last month when obvious when it was revealed that Russell had helped design a Jordan Why Not Zer0.1 colorway in honor of his younger brother Raynard. The colorway was dubbed “PhD” since his brother recently earned the degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. It seems that another similar colorway of the model will be joining upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018, this time in homage of Russell’s son, Noah Westbrook.
Noah is Russell’s first son. It will be his first birthday on May 16th, 2018. Russell’s wife Nina Westbrook was also a basketball player at UCLA and that is how they met each other. Russell has admitted that everything in his life revolves around his son and that family is the most important thing for him. He believes in always putting his family first, no matter what. In addition to becoming known as the “Triple-Double King,” Russell Westbrook is also recognized for his fashion sense and it is not surprising when he also admitted that he wants his son to be as fashionable as him.
Despite the fact that the Oklahoma City Thunder was defeated by the Utah Jazz, resulting in being eliminated from the 2018 NBA Playoffs, Russell Westbrook has something to look forward to. His son will soon be 1 year old and Jordan Brand has whipped up a brand new colorway of his father’s signature sneaker as a gift to him. Predominantly dressed up in a combination of Black and White, this Why Not Zer0.1 iteration features Emerald-colored detailing, such as over the inner lining, lace toggles and outsoles. In addition to the “Westbrook” branding, Noah’s date of birth printed on the inside of the straps.
Although both of the colorways mentioned above are set to join upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018, it has not yet been confirmed when. The only thing that is known is that both the Jordan Why Not Zer0.1 “Noah” and the Jordan Why Not Zer0.1 “PhD” will both soon retail online and at select retailers at a price of $125.
