2013–14 NBA season was quite monumental for Kevin Durant. Despite having been dubbed “Mr. Unreliable” by his own team after he failed to perform consistently, Kevin managed to make his way to winning his first MVP Award after adding a 25-point streak in 41 consecutive games under his belt. No doubt, several of the new Nike KD 8 colorways were inspired by childhood memories of Nike basketball athletes. However, this upcoming “Suits” iteration of the KD 8, which is arriving on one of upcoming KD 8 Nike release dates 2015, apparently takes inspiration from probably the biggest moment of Kevin Durant’s basketball career.
Kevin Durant received his first Most Valuable Player Award back in 2014 and he walked up on stage to accept dressed up in a bold and vivid suit. Even his sincere acceptance speech was unique in its own right, since he not only shared his “story” but also elaborated the statement he intended to make with the suit he wore. Kevin Durant has always been persistently determined, and much like the suit he wore, this “Suit” colorway of the KD 8 reflects the precision and refined quality of his performance on the court. The sneaker colorway is also tribute to the athlete himself as he aims to score a championship victory for his team in the near future.
Similar to the suit Kevin Durant wore when he accepted his first MVP award; the Flyweave upper of this KD 8 rendition is dressed up in a combination of Court Purple and Green Strike. Its vibrant construction also sports traces of Bright Crimson as well, most notably covering the insole. Moreover, the translucent outsole component is covered in the same Volt hue that is visible in the form of accents on the tongue tab and in a lighter shade in he form of the Nike Swoosh.
Kevin Durant’s 2014–15 NBA season was riddled with injuries as a result of which he laced up in the Nike KD 7 only a few times. However, the debut of the Nike KD 8 has also marked his return to health and hopefully he will have a better and more successful 2015-2016 season. As for this KD 8 “Suit,” August 14th is one of the upcoming August 2015 Nike release dates has been confirmed for the retail debut of the sneaker, which will be available at a price of $180.
