Nike concluded 2017 with release of the KITH x LeBron 15 “Long Live The King” Collection. The collection was officially unveiled on December 28th, 2017. The collection includes the a colorway of the LeBron 15’s regular performance version, along with two colorways of its lifestyle variation.
The performance version of the LeBron 15, despite being the on-court addition in this collection, was designed to look luxurious while still retaining all of its core performance qualities. LeBron James himself actually rocked that pair on Christmas Day last year. The Battle-Knit uppers of this iteration were dressed up in subtle Rose Gold tone. Asymmetric branding was featured on each shoe’s leather panel, which was hidden beneath a zipper. In addition to the zipper, the sneaker could also be laced up in multiple ways. It was also equipped with entirely Sail-colored midsoles and Rose Gold-colored Nike “Swoosh” logos, which could be spotted over the heels.
The lifestyle variation of the LeBron 15 borrowed the same original midsole construction, but the uppers were completely upgraded. Its uppers were made up of textured Flyknit material, with each forefoot sporting hexagonal knitting, and its sock-like collars were higher than usual. In addition to a curved zipper on the media side of each shoe, this variation was also equipped with a strap system instead of laces, including a full-length strap, half-length strap and no-strap options. The two colorways of the lifestyle variation were dubbed “Concrete” and “Stained Glass.”
Sneakerheads who were really delighted by the KITH x Nike LeBron 15 “Long Live The King” Collection can rejoice because it turns out that there is a part 2 of the collection that will arrive soon. This time, it seems that the collection will include four different LeBron 15 colorways, two of the performance version and two of the lifestyle variation. The performance colorways have been dubbed “King’s Cloak” and “Suit of Armor,” while the lifestyle colorways have been dubbed “City of Angels” and “King’s Crown.” Moreover, matching apparel like basketball shorts and hoodies will also be a part of the collection.
Last year’s collection made its retail debut at Kitch.com and Kith stores on December 30th, 2017. This second part of the KITH x Nike LeBron 15 “Long Live The King” Collection is scheduled to hit the shelves this month on February 16th, 2018, although retail prices for the sneakers have not been revealed yet.
