For anyone wondering what Kobe Bryant is up to these days, he has been enjoying his time in Italy, test driving a $490000 F12 on an Italian racetrack at Ferrari headquarters, among other things. Despite the fact that Kobe has retired from the sport of basketball, it seems that Nike sneakers has not intention of putting an end to their Kobe 11 releases, as if Kobe is still a part of the league. It seems that Nike sneakers is taking the same root with the Kobe line that Jordan Brand has been taking with the Air Jordan series, which suggests that Kobe 11 might not be the final model.
The most recent iteration of the Kobe 11 was the “3D,” which pays tribute to a Kobe 6 iteration of the same name that Nike sneakers had whipped up back in 2011 when the All-Star Game had been hosted in Los Angeles. With a seemingly endless summer still underway, Nike’s latest theme for the eleventh Kobe model is quite appropriate and could potentially be a collection that has been dubbed the “Summer Pack.” It is not surprisingly that Kobe himself is one to debut to this new Kobe 11 in Italy during his summer European tour.
Based on photos posted on Hypebeast.com, the uppers of Kobe’s sneaker are plain White and appear to be made up of mesh. The inner linings and Nike Swoosh logos on the side are visible covered in a Teal hue, while Red-colored accents can also be spotted. Adding the finish touch, this sneaker is also equipped with Gum Rubber soles. The color scheme that this sneaker features resembles that of the Miami Dolphins to quite an extent, but the predominantly White-uppers are certainly summer-appropriate.
It is uncertain if the “Summer Pack” nickname is a reference to a collection and whether Nike sneakers will drop more similar colorways in the near future. Nonetheless, Nike has confirmed that this particular Kobe 11 “Summer Pack” will retail at a price of $160 on August 31st, so expect more photos to surface very soon.
