Nike introduced their Air technology back in 1978 when it was incorporated into the Tailwind’s soles. The technology was on full display in the form of a visible Air bubble when the Air Max 1 debuted in 1987. In celebration of the Air Max 1’s 30 anniversary, Nike introduced the VaporMax in 2017. Ever since, Nike has expanded it into a line that includes models like the VaporMax 97, VaporMax Plus, VaporMax Flyknit 2 and the VaporMax Flyknit Utility. As of now, a brand new colorway of both the Air VaporMax 2 and the Air VaporMax Utility have been officially unveiled by Nike, and will be arriving soon.
This is the latest women’s-only colorway of the Air VaporMax 2 from Nike for the summer season. Dubbed “Thunder Grey,” its Flyknit uppers are almost entirely dressed up in a Dark Grey hue. A Hot Punch hue appears over the heel tabs and the strips around the heels. Compared to its predecessor, the VaporMax 2 has relatively smaller-sized Nike “Swoosh” logos on the sides, which in this case are plain White. Last but not least, it is also equipped with Geode Teal-colored VaporMax soles, while the same hue can also be spotted over the insoles, which have “VAPORMAX” and another little “Swoosh” printed on them.
This summer, the Air VaporMax Utility is going to arrive at retailers in a myriad of different colorways. D The brand new colorway featured here is being referred to as “Team Red.” Earlier, photos of the sneaker were posted on solebox, but now Nike has officially unveiled it as well. Its nickname is obviously a reference to the bold Team Red hue that covers a majority of its Flyknit uppers. Ashen Slate and Obsidian hues can be spotted over the heel overlays and the lacing system, while it features old-school rope laces. It is also equipped with semi-translucent, Obsidian-colored VaporMax bubble outsoles.
The Women’s Nike Air VaporMax 2 “Thunder Grey” is going to make its retail on August 2nd or on a later date and is going to be available at a price of $190. The Air VaporMax Utility “Team Red” is first going to hit the shelves overseas on July 12th, 2018 and will retail for $225, while it will make its way to stateside retailers later.
