LeBron James turned 32 on December 30th and he celebrated his birthday in more ways than one. On Friday night, which was the night of his birthday, LeBron James was eating prime meats among other things at Fahrenheit Restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina. Along with him were several of his teammates from the Cleveland Cavaliers, such as Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson. However, a day before celebrating his birthday in Charlotte, the Cavaliers faced off against the Boston Celtics. The Cavaliers managed to defeat the Celtics with a score of 124-118 and during the game, LeBron James unveiled a brand new Nike LeBron 14 colorway.
On the night of his birthday, LeBron and his fellow Cavaliers teammates arrived at the Charlotte-based Fahrenheit Restaurant at around 8:30 PM. They celebrated the King’s birthday in a private, and the food and drinks that were ordered were apparently worth a total of $3,000. LeBron treated his teammates with lobster tails and 60-day aged New York steaks, while King James himself ate a blackened salmon salad. The meal was paired with Hennessy and Moscow Mules, while they had chocolate and vanilla bean cake for dessert. For those wondering why the Cavaliers were in Charlotte, the team was actually set to face the Hornets later that night.
Sneakerheads may have already noticed the fact that the LeBron 14 is nothing like its predecessors. Instead of Hyperposite uppers, the LeBron 14 was constructed to be a lightweight slip-on sneaker, which is the reason its uppers are made up of dual zone composite textile utilizing engineered laser perforation technology. The latest colorway of the LeBron 14 is dubbed “Black Ice” since its uppers are almost entirely dressed up in ominous Black. The most noticeable exception is the large Nike “Swoosh” logo featured on the midfoot straps that has an eye-catching White-colored outline. This iteration is also equipped with all-White midsoles and icy, translucent outsoles with Zoom Air units visible.
Although it is not unusual, it is quite surprising that LeBron James himself debuted this brand new colorway of this latest signature model on the court. Sneakerheads will actually be able to cop a pair of the LeBron 14 “Black Ice” since it is scheduled to hit the shelves on January 28th and it will retail at a price of $175.
