Nike Basketball’s “Rise” Collection Is Inspired By The Outdoor Basketball Culture In China

Rise is the first ever basketball development program and reality documentary by Nike. The aim behind this program is to inspire young Asian basketball enthusiasts, especially those in China, to hone their skills on the court and realize their true potential in this sport. Nike Basketball recognizes the love and passion their fans in Asia have for the sport and in honor of this admiration, they unveiled the Nike “Rise” Collection that will soon arrive at retailer son one of the upcoming Nike release dates 2015.

The people of China absolutely adore the American sport of professional basketball and the professional athletes who play for the National Basketball Association. Viewers in the Far East are also left roaring whenever athletes like LeBron James, Kevin Durant or Kobe Bryant perform a slam dunk. At the same time, basketball aficionados in China are also happen to be avid collectors of Nike’s signature sneakers that represent these professional basketball players. That is why so many NBA athletes have committed themselves to doing in-person outreach to their admirers in Asia, and perhaps that is why Nike creates so many releases exclusively for sneakerheads in Asia.

One example is Nike’s “takedown” line, which actually takes inspiration of the outdoor basketball culture in China until now, the signature sneakers from that line have never hit the shelves in the U.S. For the first time ever, Nike is releasing unique colorways of models like the KD Trey 5 III, Kobe Venomenon 4 and the LeBron Soldier 9, which are covered in various gradients, graphic linings and the midsoles are speckled. The sneaker that stands out the most is perhaps the iteration of Kyrie Irving’s first ever signature model, which sports a jagged-tooth pattern camouflaged within the crisp white outsole.

This collection will likely prove to be quite an exciting release, considering that it consists of three sneakers that stateside sneakerheads have never gotten their hands on. However, Nike Basketball is yet to drop any hints of one of the upcoming Nike release dates 2015 potentially marking the retail debut of this “Rise” Collection.
