This year, Nike Basketball has been particular attention to their Nike SB Dunk model, especially the low-top version of the basketball shoes. It is not new for revolutionary models from the various Nike signature series to be inspired by the original colorways from the Air Jordan lineup. This time, Nike is ready to drop an SB Dunk Low, which sports a “Black Cement” color concept, on one of the upcoming Nike release dates 2015.
Ever since Nike whipped up and introduced the Nike SB back in 2002, the Air Jordan and Dunk series have frequently crossed over quite a few times, resulting in some unbelievable sneaker releases. More than a decade ago, a Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low collaboration sneaker had also debuted in a “Black/Cement” colorway. Numerous other Air Jordan colorways have also served as a source of inspiration for various Nike SB Dunk renditions. The recently released Nike SB Dunk High “Grape” was also inspired by the Air Jordan 5 “Grape.”
This particular “Black/Cement” colorway of the Nike SB Dunk Low looks somewhat like a mashup between the Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4, while retaining the signature trademark elements of the Dunk series. As the colorway’s nickname likely suggests, the premium leather upper of this sneaker is dressed up tonal black, which is further adorned with black-colored nubuck overlays. To complete the Retro Air Jordan-inspired color scheme, this sneaker also features University Red inner lining and outsole, while its Wolf Grey midsole are covered in speckles to emulate the Cement look.
This colorway of the Nike SB Dunk Low could be easily mistaken for an Air Jordan pair, especially the Air Jordan 3 that Jordan Brand discontinued last year. While certain worldwide Nike locations already have this sneaker up for grabs, one of the upcoming Nike release dates 2015 has yet to be officially confirmed for the stateside retail debut of this Nike SB Dunk Low “Black Cement”.
