Back in May 2017, Nike introduced a rather elaborate and intricate new sneaker model, and it was the ACG.07.KMTR. According to Nike, they drew inspiration from a brown paper bag for this new silhouette. In fact, Nike designers actually scrunched and shaped a brown paper bag into a shoe around their feet in order to come with the design of the ACG.07.KMTR, especially its single-piece uppers with wide opening for the wearer to enter their feet. However, the limited NikeLab ACG.07.KMTR was merely the predecessor to the KMTR Premium, which is a more general release variation and is scheduled to make its retail debut in two different colorways.
The KMTR Premium is actually not a part of Nike’s ACG line. Much like its predecessor though, the KMTR Premium is also equipped with four-way stretch uppers made of water-resistant textile material and lockdown toggles. Using those toggles, its uppers can be transformed from their loose, wide-open state to fitting snugly around the wearer’s feet and look sleek. The KMTR Premium also features 3M reflective accents, magnetic heel closure, and full-Gum Rubber soles that have wet traction lugs beneath them. Overall, the KMTR Premium is not so different from the NikeLab ACG.07.KMTR that was introduced a few months ago.
The debut colorways of the Nike KMTR Premium have been dubbed “Mineral Yellow” and “Sequoia,” both of which are ideal color schemes for the summer. The “Mineral Yellow” colorways is the brighter one of the two, with its textile uppers covered in a Yellow hue, while Sail appears throughout the sneaker as a complementing, secondary hue. Similarly, the “Sequoia” has entirely Olive-colored textile uppers, while it also features contrasting Grey-colored detailing throughout. Additionally, both iterations are also equipped with Gum Rubber soles and sport some 3M reflective accents too, as mentioned.
Sneakerheads may or may not recall, but the NikeLab ACG.07.KMTR was launched at NikeLab retail locations and on NikeLab.com on May 18th, 2017. Nearly three months later, now the Nike KMTR Premium “Mineral Yellow” and “Sequoia” colorways will reportedly be making their retail debuts on August 24th at a price of $150 each.
