As sneakerheads may recall, Nike dropped the LeBron 14 last year on Christmas Day and the debut launch of the sneaker nearly caused a riot at House of Hoops by Foot Locker in New York City. It was late in August 2017, when reports began circulating that the Nike LeBron 15 would be making its retail debut earlier than expected, with four colorways apparently scheduled to arrive next month, in October 2017. Around the same time, LeBron James was spotted practicing at UCLA and the pair of kicks he was laced up in was being reported as the Nike LeBron 15 due to its visible Zoom Air soles.
Earlier this week, sneakerheads finally got their first look at the LeBron 15 and it did not take long for Nike to officially unveil the latest installment, which is Nike’s most innovative creation to date. The LeBron 15 features a full bootie construction, with uppers made up of a Flyknit-like, woven textured material being referred to as BattleKnit, which gives the sneaker’s design more depth. The only element that seems to have been externally is the aggressive-looking heel counters. Its BattleMax cushioning unit is equally innovative, apparently a combination of Air Max and Zoom Air technology. Last but not least, it is equipped with visible Zoom Air compartments.
Just recently, LeBron James also walked down the runway for the very first time as a part of Nike’s latest collaboration with KITH Sport, a 90s basketball-inspired collection. As he walked down the ramp, King James was laced up in an iteration of the LeBron 15 that features floral embroidery. That very night, LeBron James also shared a photo on his official Instagram (@kingjames) of a tan-themed colorway of the LeBron 15, which is apparently dubbed “Ghost.” Last but not least, there is a fourth colorway dubbed “SVSM,” which has not yet been unveiled, but pays homage to Saint Vincent Saint Mary, LeBron’s high school.
It has already been confirmed that the Nike LeBron 15 will be making its retail debut on October 28th, 2017 in the grayish colorway and will be available at an unspecified price. As for the “Floral Embroidery,” “Ghost” and “SVSM” colorway, they will also hit the shelves in October, maybe on the same date.
