A lot of news about and photos of the React Element 87 have been circulating online over the past couple of weeks and finally, Nike has officially unveiled the running shoe. The design and development process of the React Element 87 started off with a drill and a slab of foam. Nike Sportswear came up with the idea for the React Element 87 with the intention of wearers maximum cushioning as they go about their everyday life, not just when they are running. This means that will receive maximum underfoot cushioning, whether they are running, shifting, sprinting, standing and/or walking.
Following a ‘tile’ with a number of pressure maps on it, and going through some trial and error, Nike’s designers drilled the holes into the foam, deep and dense enough to ensure the maximum comfort. This resulted in patterned midsoles, with the densities of their various holes accurately scaled down, depending on the shoe size. The midsoles of the Nike Epic React were also designed in a similar manner. However, the patterns on the midsoles of the Nike React Element 87 are looser and spread out wider. Thus, wearers will experience a soft bounce every time they take a step while laced up in it.
The uppers of the React Element 87 are made up of 100% TPE yarn textile, making them appear somewhat translucent. The uppers also feature classic-looking heel clips and lace eye stays, which may remind you of several different Nike designs from the past, such as the Nike Internationalist. The Nike Element React 87 is scheduled to make its retail debut on June 21, exclusively in Asia, Europe, the Greater China and Latin America via the SNEAKERS/SNKRS app and at select retailers in those countries. Later, it will become available in North America on July 13th, 2018, also via the SNKRS app and at select retailers.
