This year marked 34th anniversary of the Nike Air Force 1. When it comes to the history of sneakers, the Air Force 1 is regarded as one of the best-selling athletic shoes. Considering that thirty four years have already passed since it had been introduced, it is not surprising that Nike has dropped literally thousands of iterations to date. Furthermore, there are almost two thousand variations of the Air Force 1 as of now, despite its brief hiatus back in the early-to-mid ’80s. Celebrating thirty four years of the model and paying tribute to it, Nike is now set to introduce this Special Field Air Force 1.
Before Nike had introduced the Air Force 1, just about every other basketball sneaker of that time had the herringbone traction pattern beneath its soles. However, designer Bruce Kilgore had ultimately decided that he wanted the Air Force 1 to have something different and is how the model’s signature circular outsole pattern came to be. Back in 2003 when Kobe Bryant had not yet signed with any sportswear brand yet, the Black Mamba had laced up in the Air Force 1 for just one game. Ultimately, the the Air Force 1 is a casual sneaker and the reason it is popular to this day is because it is still in demand.
Only time will tell whether or not the Nike Special Field Air Force 1 will steal the spotlight in a similar manner. Nike is definitely making an effort to draw as much attention as possible to this new model. Nike has even released a brief advertisement to introduce the Special Field Air Force 1. The commercial features prominent NBA athletes like Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, Draymond Green, Isiah Thomas, and Paul George.
As per the ad, the Nike Special Field Air Force 1 combines high-end luxury and technical performance. Its uppers are apparently made up of full-grain leather and ripstop ballistic nylon, while it also comes with Special Field toe bags that are held in place by adjustable ankle straps. The tongues even have a hidden pocket to offer space for personal storage. As is being reported, this model will arrive in four different colorways. A “Black/Gum” and “Faded Olive” colorway will be for men and a “Golden Beige” and “Light Bone” colorway will be for women. All of four of these Nike Special Field Air Force 1 will be available on November 5th and 6th.
