After the young Penny Hardaway lead the Orlando Magic to the Finals during their 1995-96 season, Nike Basketball rewarded him with his own official basketball shoes, the Nike Penny. The Nike Air Penny was Penny Hardaway’s first signature model that had been designed by Eric Avar. The basketball shoes were crafted to be explosive and versatile, equipped with the Air Max2, the Tensile Air, which is known as Zoom Air today, and a wing-like lateral support. The Air Penny also served as a source of inspiration for Nike Basketball’s Uptemp line.
Originally, Nike only released three Air Penny colorways, which included the coveted “Ordlando” iteration. Over the years, Nike has retroed the Air Penny quite a few times, but it is uncertain why they have never re-released the original black or white colorways of the model. For most sneakerheads, the Nike Penny is very best model from Penny Hardaway’s signature line and at sneakerexclusive.com; you can cop it in a myriad of colorways.
