Continuing from where the previous post left off.
Nike Kobe 1 Protro “Final Seconds”
It is inspired by the devastating and dominating performance of Kobe Bryant on April 30st, 2006 during Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs. The nickname of this iteration is a nod to that final shot that Kobe made during the last few seconds, despite the fact that there were two defenders blocking his path and the buzzer was about to ring.
Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 1 “25 Straight”
It is inspired by LeBron James’ effort on May 31st, 2007 during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, which ensured that the Cleveland Cavaliers actually made it to the NBA Finals. LeBron was not as well-known as he is today, yet rocking the LeBron Soldier 1, he scored all 29 out of the 30 points that the Cavaliers had by the end of that game. 25 of those were straight points.
Nike Zoom KD IV “Battle Tested”
It is inspired by the first NBA Finals game that Kevin Durant was a part of, which took place on June 6th, 2012, back when he was a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. More specifically, it draws inspiration from Game 6 of the NBA Finals, in which Kevin scored 34 points, along with 14 rebounds, ensuring victory for the Thunder.
Nike Air Force 270 “Gold Standard”
This iteration is not actually inspired by any previous historic NBA Finals moment; rather it is homage to all previous NBA champions and to the team that will win end up winning the championship this year. It draws inspiration from the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
