Following the retail debut of the “Christ The King (CTK)” PE, the Nike Zoom LeBron 3 is arriving in another original (OG) colorway. Earlier this year, rumors began circulating that Nike was bringing back the Zoom LeBron 3 “Christ The King” PE and it would actually hit the shelves. Back in 2006 when Nike first introduced this Player Exclusive colorway, only family and friends of LeBron James and other NBA players received a pair. The Zoom LeBron 3 Christ The King” was finally released on September 6th, 2018, although exclusively in New York City, where it retailed for $175 via the Nike SNKRS app.
The Zoom LeBron 3 Was Introduced During The Peak Of King James’ Career
By 2003, LeBron James was already regarding among the NBA’s elite players. He was not even 21 yet back then, but he was 6’9” tall and weighed 250 pounds, which made it challenging for the Nike design team to create an ideal basketball sneaker for him. LeBron’s first signature sneaker from Nike had been the Air Zoom Generation and his second one was the LeBron 2. The Zoom LeBron 3 was designed to look like a high-tech army boot. Thus, it had micro-perforations on its leather uppers and featured straps. Its midsoles were also designed to be linear and sleeker. It was also equipped with larger Zoom Air units.
The Zoom LeBron 3 Will Once Again Hit The Shelves In An OG Colorway
As mentioned, LeBron James has been signed with Nike since before 2003 and currently it is his 16th NBA season. The original Zoom LeBron 3 colorway that is featured here was first released back on February 25th, 2006, so it is making its comeback after twelve years. From afar, this LeBron 3 iteration may appear to be dressed up in a balanced combination of Navy Blue and White, which is indeed the case. Upon closer inspection though, Silver can also be spotted over the lace eyelets and LeBron’s “LJ23” branding on the insoles. It seems this Zoom LeBron 3 OG colorway will be among Nike’s 2018 Holiday Season releases.
