For a long time, Nike Air Foamposite One colorways solid color blocking have always been favorites and this upcoming “University Blue” colorway of the model is likely going to be no different. In recent times, Nike has been experimenting with their Air Foamposite One releases, but this time they have gone back to the basics while still maintaining style. This latest Nike release of the Air Foamposite One might even remind sneakerheads of the “Dark Neon Royal” colorway of the silhouette and it can even be regarded as an updated version.
Sneakerheads who are into hip hop and music like recall that Jay-Z was featured on the “Best of Me” remix by Mya, which was released back in 2000, and his rap included the verse “Carolina blue kicks …” There is a reason Jay-Z refers to Carolina blue kicks because there was a time when baby blue sportswear and merchandise, everything from jerseys to shirts to shorts to sneakers, were creating tremendous height. In fact, Jordan Brand and Nike Sportswear were at the forefront of dropping “Carolina Blue” colorways of their signature footwear silhouettes. Jordanheads are probably already aware that Jordan Brand is bringing back the Air Jordan 1 “UNC” and now this Air Foamposite One “University Blue” is also on its way to retailers.
The molded foam shell of this Foamposite colorway is almost entirely dressed up in a “University Blue” hue. The rest of the upper and the inner lining are covered in Black, while a tiny White Nike Swoosh can be spotted on the toebox. This new colorway of the Air Foamposite has the potential of achieve an instant-classic status.
However, sneakerheads should forget about expecting this new Air Foamposite rendition to hit the shelves this year because apparently a Nike release 2016 is already scheduled for it. Hence, the Nike Air Foamposite One “University Blue” will not arrive at retailers until January next year.
