Sneakerheads who visit this blog probably recall the recent post about the Nike Air Foamposite One, specifically the fact that next year marks its 20 anniversary. By now, they should also know that three of the most iconic, original Air Foamposite colorways are making their comeback in 2017, namely the “Copper,” “Eggplant” and “Royal.” It has been a very long time since these colorways had last arrived at retailers, but it turns out they will not be the only ones. Apparently, Nike will commemorate this milestone of the Air Foamposite One by dropping a brand new, special “20 Anniversary” iteration of the model.
While the Air Foamposite One has not been available for a little over a month, Nike had dropped the latest Air Foamposite One release quite recently. In fact, it was just last month on August 25th when the Air Foamposite Pro “Hyper Cobalt” made its surprising and unexpected retail debut. This iteration had formerly been an exclusive version that Ben Gordon had received after he had been drafted by the Chicago Bulls to be their shooting guard and officially turned pro. Sneakerheads would have never guessed that Nike would decide to release this sneaker to the general public, but the decision was made this year.
The last but recent Air Foamposite One release was that of the “Olympic” colorway that Nike had whipped up in commemoration of the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. The sneaker had retailed for a whopping $250 on July 26th. It is being reported that the special colorway of the Air Foamposite One that will be one of 2017’s Nike releases has been dubbed “XX,” which is the Roman numeral for 20. Apart from the fact that its style code is “895320-500,” there is currently no information available regarding what this rendition will look like. The only thing that is for certain is that this Nike Air Foamposite One “XX” will make its retail debut in 2017.
