Over the years, many basketball films have been produced and released, and every sneakerhead out there likely has at least one favorite. However, they cannot deny (at least those who have watched it) that one of the very best of those films was He Got Game. Apparently Nike Basketball is well-aware of this as well, because if this was not so, then why else would a Holiday pack, which takes inspiration by sneakers that the actors sported in the film, be received a Nike release 2015.
The 1998 film not only starred Denzel Washington but Ray Allen as well, who played the character of Jesus Shuttlesworth. Both of the kicks that are a part of this upcoming pack are sure to make sneakerheads feel quite nostalgic. This Nike Basketball collection has been dubbed the “Nike Make Up Class of ’97” Pack, which comprises of an O.G. colorway of the Nike Zoom Hawk Flight and a “Pearl” colorway of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro. Ray Allen laced up in both of these sneakers in the film.
Sneakerheads are probably curious why Nike chose to dub this pack “Class of ’97,” despite the fact that it was not until 1996 that Ray Allen was drafted and the film itself was not released until 1998. The fact of the matter is that this pack actually gets its name from the year in which Jesus Shuttlesworth attended Lincoln High in the film.
So, in a way this “Nike Make Up Class of ’97” Pack is a nod to He Got Game, the most outstanding basketball film ever made. This particular Nike release 2015 has actually already been confirmed by the brand itself and it has also been confirmed that it will be retailing for $385 on December 18th, 2015. Both the sneakers included in this pack are supposedly to look the same as the originals, which makes it worth copping and this also explains the hefty price.
