College basketball season is almost here. Earlier this week on Monday, October 3rd, the North Carolina Tar Heels had participated in the preseason’s first practice. The last time they had been practicing was back in April of this year when they had been preparing to face the Villanova Wildcats for the national championship. University of North Carolina’s team media is also around the corner and November 11th is scheduled to officially kick off their season. Thus, the Tar Heels have a little over a month left before they are back in action. Once they return, they could be spotted rocking the Air Jordan 31 PE featured here.
This season, the North Carolina Tar Heels are expected to show far greater improvement on their 3-point shooting skills. For the past couple of seasons, the Tar Heels have been constantly falling short when it comes to perimeter shooting, so if this actually takes place, it will be a significant step forward for the team. Last year, out of all the 3-point attempts that the Tar Heels had made, only 32.7% of them had been successful ones. Not to mention, they no longer have Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige. Yet, hopefully the Tar Heels will manage to improve as a shooting team.
Michael Jordan once studied at the University of North Carolina and had been a member of the Tar Heels, so it is not surprising that they receive exclusive sneakers from Jordan Brand every now and then. This time, Jordan Brand has given the team their very own, brand new PE colorway of the Air Jordan 31. The photo of the sneaker featured here was recently posted on the team’s Instagram profile (@unc_basketball). Since it is inspired by the Tar Heels, its uppers are dressed up in a combination of Carolina Blue and White. At some point in the future, Jordan Brand may or may not drop this Air Jordan 31 “UNC” iteration.
