The collaboration between Jordan Brand and Virgil Abloh’s OFF-WHITE has lead to the release of three unique, deconstructed iterations of the Air Jordan 1 High since last year. Two of them joined the Air Jordan releases 2018 earlier this year. One of those was the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 “Powder Blue (UNC),” which recently made its global retail debut on June 19th, 2018 at a price of $190. The Air Jordan 1 pair you see here probably looks like another collaborative iteration from Jordan Brand and OFF-WHITE, which it isn’t, at least not officially. The pair you featured here is actually a custom designed by Mache Custom Kicks.
What Is It Inspired By?
There are two reasons you may feel that this custom Air Jordan 1 pair featured here looks familiar. The first is that this pair was originally the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 “Powder Blue (UNC)” mentioned above, and the second is that its color scheme and design both draw inspiration from the Parra x Nike Air Max 1 that was released earlier month. It was dressed up in somewhat of a patriotic color scheme of Blue, Pink, Purple, Pure Platinum, Red and White, while also featuring patterns like polka dots and stripes. This collaborative iteration made its retail debut at a price of $150 on July 21, 2018.
The OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 “Parra” By Mache Custom Kicks
Of course, this custom OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 has been nicknamed “Parra” since it was inspired by the Parra x Nike Air Max 1. The OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 “Powder Blue (UNC)” retains its deconstructed appearance, its plain White base, and some of its Powder Blue-colored detailing. The rest of it seems to have been modified to sport the same color scheme, and the same polka dot and stripe patterns, as the Parra x Nike Air Max 1. The inner sides still appear to have “Off-White™ for NIKE “AIR JORDAN 1” Beverton, Oregon USA c. 1985” printed over them, while the “AIR” branding can be spotted too.
