Reebok enthusiasts likely know it very well that the brand has a very spectacular range of classic basketball and running shoes. Each season, they continue to add new installments to their heritage line, quite regularly. Moreover, hardcore Reebok aficionados are probably also well-aware of how deeply involved the brand has been in one particular sport that has practically revolved around some of their most culturally classic models. Of course, the sport is none other than tennis and back in February of this year; Reebok sneakers had introduced the Year of Court as means of bringing that very sport under the spotlight in 2016.
For their Year of Court collection, Reebok four most their most iconic tennis shoe silhouettes, which have been sitting in their archives for quite some time now. Each of those four shoes has a rich history of having been worn both on the streets and tennis courts. Primarily, the Year of Court collection revolved around the Club C, NPC, NPC UK and Phase 1 Pro shoes, which had been constructed to look like the originals while being dressed up predominantly in White. Throughout the year, the Reebok Certified Network has also been adding collaborative versions of those four tennis shoes to the Year of Court collection.
For the latest collaborative addition to the Year of Court collection, Reebok teamed up with mita sneakers from Japan to introduce another Phase 1 Pro iteration that features “wooden” aesthetics. This brand new rendition of this vintage tennis shoe draws inspiration from the age-old times when wood was used to make tennis racquets. Thus, the suede uppers of this shoe sport a woodgrain-print in two different shades, while a portion of the heels and the toes are covered in a solid Light Tan hue. The shoe is also equipped with Gum Rubber outsoles as it used to back in 1984. Adding the finishing look, mita’s signature chain-link fence graphics cover the insoles and their logos can be spotted on the tongues.
The mita Sneakers x Reebok Phase 1 Pro had already made their retail debut on June 25th, but they should still be available from Reebok Certified Network retailers at a price of $120.
