Travis Scott recently provided an up-close preview of his Air Jordan 6 colorway that will be among next month’s Air Jordan releases 2019. Travis Scott seems to have been rather busy as of late. He recently teamed up with SZA and The Weeknd to sing a song titled “Power Is Power,” which is essential Jon Snow’s theme song as a part of HBO’s Game of Thrones companion music album. In other (not-so-favorable) news, a court has ordered Travis Scott to pay almost $400,000 to a Minneapolis-based promotion company for a gig he canceled on the day of the Super Bowl LIII.
Reportedly, Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan releases 2019 for this year’s Holiday Season will include a washed denim iteration of the Air Jordan 6. The Air Jordan 6 has received the denim treatment twice before, although unofficially, so neither of those iterations hit the shelves. Of these custom Air Jordan 6 “Ostrich and Denim” designed by JBF Customs back in September 2013. JBF Customs used the Air Jordan 6 “Olympic” to serve as the base for his custom creation. As its nickname likely suggests, its uppers made up of denim and faux ostrich leather. It wasn’t until four years later that another custom, denim Air Jordan 6 iteration was designed.
Jordan Brand’s three upcoming Air Jordan releases are “Reflective” varitions of OG colorways from the Bulls’ first championship three-peat. Starting with the Air Jordan 6 that you can see above, you may have recognized that this “Reflective” is using the OG “Infared” colorway as its base. At the time when the Air Jordan 6 was introduced and Michael Jordan laced up in it, he was on his way towards leading the Chicago Bulls to their first NBA Championship victory. Instead of nearly all-Black, its uppers are now completely reflective. Black still appears over the heels, laces, midsoles and tongues, and the Infrared-colored accents are the same as the original.
This year marked the debut of renditions of the Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 3, which Tinker Hatfield modified to resemble his original, respective sketches of these two models. The Air Jordan 3 “Tinker” arrived on April 30th, which was Tinker Hatfield’s birthday, while the Air Jordan 13 was transformed into a completely different model, which was dubbed the Jordan Black Cat. It seems that upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018 are going to include a “Tinker” series of sneakers of a slightly different nature. It will consist of Air Jordan models inspired by some of Michael Jordan’s favorite Nike sneakers that were designed by Tinker Hatfield. The Air Jordan 3 debuted thirty years ago and in commemoration of its 30th anniversary, its classic “Black Cement” and “White Cement” colorways made a comeback. Additionally, Jordan Brand also introduced the Air Jordan 3 “Tinker.” Within the sneakers community, it is common knowledge that the Air Jordan 3 was designed by Tinker Hatfield and this “Tinker” iteration was inspired by his original sketch of the sneaker model. The sketch actually made an appearance in the form of the graphic on the midsoles. Of course, Tinker Hatfield also designed the Air Jordan 6 and drew a sketch for the sneaker’s design, which is being transformed into an upcoming iteration.
