Foam shell uppers are typically associated with Nike’s Foamposite line. However, back in Fall 2010, Nike blended Foamposite with the Air Force 1, ultimately designing the Air Force 1 Foamposite. In addition to having foam shell uppers, the very first iteration of the Air Force 1 Foamposite featured 3M reflective material over its ankle straps. Additionally, its Foamposite uppers were covered in radiant Silver. Ever since, the Air Force 1 Foamposite has hit the shelves in a few different colorways, and has been a part of Nike’s 2013 Black History Month releases and the Air Force 1 XXX Anniversary Holiday Collection.

When the Nike Komyuter was unveiled, it was even more futuristic and unconventional. “Komyuter,” the name of the model, is a spin on the word “commuter.” Despite its sophisticated nature, the idea for the Komyuter came from brown paper bags. The latest addition to Nike’s ACG line is actually an upgraded Air Force 1 with key design elements of the Komyuter incorporated into it.
