2017 was the year that marked the debut of the Nike LeBron 15, which was designed by Jason Petrie. Through the LeBron 15, Nike also introduced two brand new technologies, namely Battleknit uppers and a cushioning system that combines Max Air and Zoom Air. Nike first released the LeBron 15 on October 28th, 2017 in an “Ashes” colorway that retailed at a price of $185. This year, Nike surprised everyone by also launching the “LeBron Watch” program that enabled them to own various LeBron 15 PE colorways that had been seen throughout 2018. It seems that Nike is bringing back the LeBron Watch program for a second 2018–2019 season.
Following the retail debut of the “Christ The King (CTK)” PE, the Nike Zoom LeBron 3 is arriving in another original (OG) colorway. Earlier this year, rumors began circulating that Nike was bringing back the Zoom LeBron 3 “Christ The King” PE and it would actually hit the shelves. Back in 2006 when Nike first introduced this Player Exclusive colorway, only family and friends of LeBron James and other NBA players received a pair. The Zoom LeBron 3 Christ The King” was finally released on September 6th, 2018, although exclusively in New York City, where it retailed for $175 via the Nike SNKRS app.
Nike recently whipped up a “Christmas Day” PE of the Zoom LeBron Soldier 10. It was quickly assumed and was being reported that this would be the sneaker that LeBron James would wear on Christmas Day as the Cleveland Cavaliers had an NBA Finals rematch of sorts against the Golden State Warriors. The Zoom LeBron Soldier 10 “Christmas Day” PE was a predominantly clean White sneaker with Gold-colored branding on it, but it turned out not to be the sneaker that King James was wearing during the big game. LeBron James turned 32 on December 30th and he celebrated his birthday in more ways than one. On Friday night, which was the night of his birthday, LeBron James was eating prime meats among other things at Fahrenheit Restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina. Along with him were several of his teammates from the Cleveland Cavaliers, such as Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson. However, a day before celebrating his birthday in Charlotte, the Cavaliers faced off against the Boston Celtics. The Cavaliers managed to defeat the Celtics with a score of 124-118 and during the game, LeBron James unveiled a brand new Nike LeBron 14 colorway. For Game 4 of the 2016 NBA Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors went head to head against each other. During the game, LeBron James was spotted laced up in a never-before-seen colorway of the LeBron Zoom Solider 10. The Warriors ended up being victorious with a score of 108-97 and it seemed like the Cavaliers would not manage to get back up after the loss. This would have been the case had it not been for LeBron James at peak performance, who led the Cavaliers to an astonishing championship victory after more than five decades. On June 20, the Cleveland Cavaliers made history when Sunday’s final Game 7 of the NBA Finals, where they defeated the Golden State Warriors with a score of 93-89. The last time the Cavaliers had won a major sports championship was back in 1964, so 52 years later, this championship victory was definitely very momentous for the team. The game was also probably the biggest one LeBron James of the Cavaliers has ever played. King James scored 27 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds, and was unanimously voted the Finals MVP.
