For the past two summers, Russell Westbrook has toured Asia during the NBA offseason to spread his love for basketball and his “Why Not?” philosophy. Russell Westbrook continued this summer tradition and recently wrapped up his week-long “Why Not?” Asian promotional tour sponsored by Jordan Brand. Over the course of 7 days, he travelled from Shanghai to Beijing to Tokyo. Russell claims that the most important part of the “Why Not?” tour is to meet his fans. During the recent tour, he was spotted laced up in an all-Red colorway of his Jordan Why Not Zer0.1. That colorway will now be joining upcoming Air Jordan releases 2018.
Russell Westbrook has been the face of Jordan Brand for quite a while now. He is known for being one of the most fashion-forward and stylish basketball players, which is likely why his first signature model from Jordan Brand was an off-court, lifestyle sneaker. Of course, the Why Not Zer0.1 was introduced in the beginning of this year, becoming his first signature basketball sneaker. Compared to his other fellow athletes who are members of the Jordan Brand family, Russell Westbrook has always had far more creative control over his signature sneakers. With the “Why Not” tour wrapped up, Russell returns to training camp with his teammates on September 24th.
Last month, Jordan Brand officially unveiled a “Triple Black” colorway of the Why Not Zer0.1 Low. This upcoming Why Not Zer0.1 colorway is similarly tonal. As mentioned, Russell Westbrook himself rocked this new colorway during his recent “Why Not?” tour across Asia. As you can see, it is almost completely dressed up in University Red, with Black appears over the inner lining, the “Jumpman” logos at the front, and the “RW” branding on the tongues. A colorful “Why Not?” can also be spotted on the inside of each tongue. This Jordan Why Not Zer0.1 colorway has already made its retail debut and currently available on Nike.com for $115.
