It’s been a year since Russell Westbrook’s first signature sneaker from Jordan Brand last arrived at retailers. The Jordan Westbrook Low 0 hit the shelves in a simple “Black/White” colorway for the summer back in May 2016. As you may recall, the Westbrook 0 was introduced the year before that, back in February 2015 as an off-the-court, lifestyle sneaker reflecting Russell Westbrook’s fashion sense. Despite its increasingly luxurious and versatile aesthetic, the Westbrook 0 was inspired by the Air Jordan 11. A year later, Jordan Brand unveiled the Westbrook 0.2 and now it seems that they are continuing the line because featured here is the Jordan Westbrook 0.3.
The Jordan Westbrook 0.2 made its retail debut on October 15th, 2016 at a price of $140. Prior to its release, Russell Westbrook admitted that he is quite passionate about passion and would potentially pursue it someday after retiring from professional basketball. He felt greatly honored to have co-designed his second signature sneaker with Jordan Brand. Made up of leather and suede, the uppers of the Westbrook 0.2 drew inspiration from the Air Jordan 6, while its tooling was borrowed from the Air Jordan 1 KO. The outsides of both its tongues featured Russell Westbrook’s logo, while his “Why Not” mantra was split between the insides of the tongues.
The Westbrook 0.3 is both Jordan Brand’s and Russell Westbrook’s third signature off-court sneaker since there is no other NBA player who has their own signature lifestyle sneakers. Russell grew up in Southern California and apparently that is where the Westbrook 0.3 primarily draws its inspiration from. Its design and look also seems to be inspired by skating shoes of the ‘80s. Jordan Brand already seems to have whipped up three colorways, a “Black/White” patterned one, a “Black/White” with textile uppers, and a “Black/Navy” one. Their tongues also feature unique “RW” branding. Keep checking back SneakerExclusive to find out when the Jordan Westbrook 0.3 will hit the shelves.
